AiAlongside ("we," "our," or "us") operates the AiAlongside mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (encrypted).

Health & Wellness Data: To provide personalized coaching, we collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

Weight, height, age, and body measurements
Food and drink intake logs
Exercise habits and preferences
Health goals and dietary preferences
Water intake
Sleep data (via Apple Health integration)

Device & Wearable Data: With your permission, we access data from Apple Health (HealthKit) and Fitbit, including steps, heart rate, active calories, exercise minutes, and sleep data. We only read this data.

AI Coaching Conversations: Messages you exchange with Tommy, our AI health coach, are stored to provide continuity in your coaching experience.

Photos: If you use our photo meal recognition feature, images are processed to identify food items and are not stored permanently.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage data such as app opens, features used, and crash reports to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized AI health coaching through Tommy
To track your nutrition, exercise, weight, and wellness progress
To generate daily health assessments and weekly summaries
To sync your data across devices and prevent data loss
To improve the App and develop new features
To communicate with you about your account and updates

3. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with enterprise-grade security, including encryption at rest and in transit. Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text. AI processing is handled through secure server-side functions.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase: Cloud database and authentication
Anthropic (Claude AI): Powers Tommy, our AI health coach
Apple HealthKit: Reads health and fitness data with your permission
Fitbit API: Reads fitness data with your permission
USDA FoodData Central: Nutrition data for food items
Open Food Facts: Barcode scanning and product nutrition data
Edamam: Recipe search and nutrition data
YouTube Data API: Recipe video search

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. Your health data is yours.

6. Apple HealthKit Data

Data obtained through Apple HealthKit is used solely to provide health coaching features within the App. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Access: You can view all data we have about you within the App
Correction: You can edit your profile, weight log, and meal history at any time
Deletion: You can request deletion of your account by contacting jeff@aialongside.com
Opt-out: You can revoke HealthKit or Fitbit permissions at any time through your device settings

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage, secure authentication, and server-side API key management.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the App.
